## Methods

### Calculate inflation

Operation `calculate_inflation`, version 1. 1 credit per completed call. Failed calls without a completed billing receipt are free; completed work can remain charged if delivery is interrupted.

Convert a US dollar amount from one month or annual average to another using the US city average CPI-U for all items, not seasonally adjusted. A year uses its published annual average; the default destination is the latest published month. Monthly data starts January 1913; unavailable months and years without an annual average cannot be calculated.

Get the latest U.S. Consumer Price Index inflation for a spending category, with up to 24 recent months of history. Monthly changes are seasonally adjusted; 12-month changes are not.
