Twitch API

Twitch (twitch.tv) has 5 public methods: get a channel, list top categories, get channel stream schedule, list top streams and list channel videos. Each costs 1 credit per completed run (1¢ with pay as you go); failed runs are free.

  • Get a channel

    Looks up a public Twitch channel by name, display name or channel link and returns its profile, live status and up to 10 recent broadcast videos.

  • List top categories

    Lists Twitch games and categories ranked by current live viewers, with content tags, box art and category links.

    Returns rank, category name, live viewers, tags, box art, category link, category ID

  • Get channel stream schedule

    Returns a Twitch channel's public upcoming stream schedule for the next 1 to 30 days, with start and end times, titles, categories and cancellations.

    Returns channel name, schedule link, vacation note, upcoming streams

  • List top streams

    Lists the most-watched live Twitch streams, optionally within a category and language. All-category results are limited to 30 streams; category results allow up to 100.

    Returns rank, streamer, title, category, viewers, language, start time, thumbnail, channel link

  • List channel videos

    Lists a Twitch channel's public past broadcasts or highlights by date, or its top clips by views for a chosen period. Returns up to 100 items; clips unavailable to anonymous viewers are not included.
