One National Park, Two Islands Ferries depart from two locations: The Battery , at the southern tip of Manhattan in New York City, and Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey. Warning: Statue City Cruises is the ONLY ferry service authorized by the National Park Service to sell tickets for, and provide transportation to Liberty and Ellis Islands. Numerous third-party vendors sell tickets at higher prices or for boats that do not land on the islands. Tickets should only be purchased at Statue City Cruises or by calling 1 877 LADYTIX (1.877.523.9849). About the park

A gift of friendship from the people of France to the United States "Liberty Enlightening the World" is recognized as a universal symbol of freedom and democracy. It was dedicated by President Grover Cleveland on October 28, 1886. Designated as a National Monument in 1924, employees of the National Park Service have been caring for the Statue of Liberty since 1933.
